In the fall of 2023, Paul Czerwinski was rummaging through his tee pocket to find his lucky ball marker when the sharp end of a tee stabbed him right underneath his fingernail.
"While this story may be slightly exaggerated for effect, the themes are real," said Czerwinski. "Golf bags are disorganized. The disorganization causes a myriad of frustrations. I knew that all of us golfers deserved a better way."
Coincidentally, the following weekend, Czerwinski's daughter was gifted a sewing machine for her 10th birthday. With the help of his daughter, and after countless trips to the fabric store and several prototypes, Jolly Golf released The Purist.
"During the development of The Purist, I realized that not every round of golf is the same. Some are 'pure,' while others are 'merrier,'" said Czerwinski. "From that realization, the idea for The Merrymaker was born."
Though the response was immediate and encouraging, affirming Czerwinski's belief that golfers wanted “a more organized, smarter way to carry their essentials,” the market also made a few things clear.
“The next evolution needed to be lighter, more refined, more expressive in its color offerings, and elevated in its overall feel without compromising the core functionality,” said Czerwinski. “At the 2026 PGA Show, we exhibited at The Retreat and introduced the next generation of our line: a newly redesigned Purist and The Pilgrim, a more compact, minimalist option. Both launched in six Vintage (engineered leather) and four Field (waxed canvas) colorways.”
Having been featured on Golf Channel and now partnering with clubs including Eastward Ho!, The Kittansett Club, and Dedham Country & Polo Club, Czerwinski said, “While people are drawn to golf for different reasons, there’s a common thread that continues to stand out: the game’s ability to foster genuine human connection. Golf has a rare way of bringing people together across backgrounds and perspectives. It reveals character, humbles us, and, in many ways, levels the playing field. Along the way, I’ve had the chance to meet some remarkable people—people who have been generous with their time, their insight, and their support.”
