PGA National Resort Announces Transformative Members-Only Golf Experience

PGA National Resort, South Florida’s renowned golf destination and one of only a handful of locations to have hosted a Ryder Cup, Major Championship and PGA TOUR event, today announced a transformative members-only golf enclave featuring the development of a new golf course and clubhouse.
Located just minutes from the heart of the resort within Bay Hill Estates, the exclusive experience will feature the new Triple Stick Golf Club, including a state-of-the-art practice area from Love Golf Design, led by World Golf Hall of Fame member Davis Love III, and an elegant clubhouse from acclaimed architects Peacock + Lewis. The fully redesigned course will open later this year with the clubhouse to follow.

The name Triple Stick draws from both Davis Love III’s personal history and Love Golf Design’s architectural influences. “Triple” is a nod to Davis, known as “Tripp” in his younger years—a nickname derived from being the third—and follows his journey from a young golfer to the PGA TOUR. “Stick” pays homage to Pete and Alice Dye and, specifically, Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indiana, whose bold, distinctive architecture has long influenced Love Golf Design. Together, the name reflects a connection to Davis’ roots, the Loves’ longstanding relationship with the Dyes, and an architectural legacy that continues to shape their work.
While many recent golf course restorations reflect Golden Age design traditions, PGA National Resort’s new owners recognized that the former Estates Course’s abundant water features and inland South Florida landscape made it better suited to a sophisticated interpretation of the Dye architectural style.
“Pete Dye’s most memorable courses were defined by an eclectic individuality—holes that felt distinct yet remained unmistakably connected,” said Mark Love, Founder and President of Love Golf Design. “That philosophy guided our approach, resulting in a course that is strategically engaging, visually compelling and enjoyable for players of all abilities.”
The new course maintains much of the existing landform while offering a dramatically updated visual identity. Major earthmoving was intentionally avoided, all existing lakes remain undisturbed to preserve the natural character of the site, wide playing corridors were enhanced with thoughtfully placed native pines and oaks, adding strategic definition without sacrificing playability, and signature Dye-style wood treatments—including railroad tie bulkheads, angled layback walls above the waterline, and vertical drywood accents integrated into bunker faces and key fairway lines—are incorporated throughout the layout.
To complement the significantly elevated golf experience, PGA National will also construct a new clubhouse, designed by the noted team at Peacock + Lewis, to serve as an intimate, private club environment.
